Jennifer Douglas – BMus.
Jen has experience teaching students from young children to young adults. She enjoys inspiring children to pursue (or create!) a passion for music in piano lessons, and also helps students compose their own pieces. Her nurturing style of teaching focuses on the individual needs of each student, which facilitates a positive environment for growth.
Ever since she could walk, Jen has been playing the piano, singing and making music. She began lessons in piano at the age of 8, guitar at 13 and started to write and perform her own songs very young. Straight out of school, Jen jumped into the music scene by performing as a singer-songwriter at various venues around Sydney on the guitar and piano. She has played percussion in an orchestra and the piano in solo acts at mini festivals. Jen has been involved as a pianist and musical director in several musical productions in Sydney including Chicago and Keating.
In addition to studies in the piano and guitar, Jennifer has a keen interest in composition. She enjoys exploring musical ventures and continually developing knowledge that helps further her career and provide quality teaching to students. Jen continues to compose her own material ranging from electronic soundscapes to choral/instrumental works that are performed at concerts throughout in Sydney.
