Stephen has worked as a piano and composition teacher since 2014 with experience teaching students aged 5–70 years-old. He has a calm, efficient and fun approach to lessons, and strives to cater lessons to the individual needs of each student.  Maintaining a balance of enjoyment and development is key to fostering personal motivation, and Stephen enjoys helping students realise their musical potential through this approach.  He has frequently assisted HSC music students with their compositions and approaches to analysis questions in exams.

Stephen began piano lessons at age 14 after learning the clarinet.  His motivation and passion for music saw him complete his 8th Grade AMEB exam four years later with honours, and he completed his Bachelor of Music Studies (Composition) from the Sydney Conservatorium in 2017.

Stephen has had performance experience in community theatre shows, accompaniment for AMEB exams and as a cocktail pianist in venues such as the Coronation Club and the Intercontinental Hotel.  He composes music in a variety of styles and instrumentations.

In addition to teaching, Stephen is currently working as Inner West Music College’s Digital Marketing Manager, and is studying Masters in Commerce (UNSW).
